What this site keeps, and why.

My New Skills is a workbook publisher in Dunedin, New Zealand, reached at mynewskills.com and at the mailbox [email protected]. This page says what the website collects, what is done with it, and how to ask us about it. It is written in plain sentences because a privacy notice should be readable by the person it is about.

What the order form collects

The order form asks for a name, an e-mail address, the titles wanted, a quantity, a delivery region and a free-text message. When you press send, those details are passed to the form service at formsubmit.co, which forwards them as an e-mail to [email protected]. The form exists so we can reply with a quote and, if you go ahead, post a parcel. The details are used for that and for nothing else.

The form carries a hidden field that only a machine would fill in. It is there to catch automated submissions and it is never shown to you.

Where the details go and how long they stay

Your message arrives in our mailbox and stays there as ordinary correspondence for as long as the order is live, and after that as a record of what was sent to whom. If you write and ask for it to be deleted, it is deleted. The form service keeps its own short-lived copy for delivery; we do not control that copy, and its own notice describes it.

Cookies and the one thing kept in your browser

This site sets no cookies of its own. It keeps one value in your browser's local storage, under the name mns_book_pref, which records whether you accepted or declined analytics and performance measurement in the consent notice. That value is read only to decide whether to show the notice again. No analytics or advertising tool is installed on the site at present, so at present nothing else reads the setting; if that changes, this page and the notice will be updated first.

The typefaces are loaded from a font service, which sees the request for the font file in the ordinary way a web server does. No script from anyone else runs on these pages.

What we do not do with your details

We do not sell them, rent them, trade them or pass them to anyone for marketing. We do not build a profile from them. We do not add you to a mailing list; there is no mailing list.

Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act you may ask what personal information we hold about you and ask for it to be corrected. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights the General Data Protection Regulation gives you: to access your data, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to receive a copy in a portable form, and to object to its processing. If you are a resident of California, you have the rights the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you: to know what is collected, to have it deleted, to opt out of any sale (we make none) and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights.

To use any of these rights, write to [email protected] from the address you used on the form, or say which address you used. We answer within a month, and usually sooner.

If the way the site handles information changes, this page changes with it and the date below moves. Last updated 28 September 2026.
